Our Vision

The scientific relationship of Germany, Russia and the Eurasian states is based on a century-long lively tradition, in which the role Mecklenburg-Vorpommern played should not be underestimated. Since 2003, the now independent republics of the former Soviet Union are involved in the Bologna-process of establishing a uniform European-Asian higher education area, which expands on existing collaborations and helps in building new ones by creating a system of two-cycle study programmes, and by switching to a unitary system of evaluation. The main goal of the Centre for Eurasian Studies lies in the multilateral exchange of students, as well as academic and non-academic staff, across the Eurasian region. In connection with this exchange the parties involved are working on establishing common focus points regarding teaching and research, which are especially applicable to further the scientific, economic, cultural and social development of all involved partners.
